12 Days Watching Birds and Tigers

Delhi - Bandhavgarh NP - Agra - National Chambal Sanctuary - Bharatpur
This tour is designed for maximizing your chances of best birding and tiger tracking in the jungles of Central India. This tour can be customized. Best time: November to June
Day 1: New Delhi
You will be met and transferred to the hotel.
Overnight: Good Standard Hotel
Day 2: New Delhi
Birding in Sultanpur lake with a guide in the morning.
Afternoon guided tour of New Delhi visiting India Gate, drive past President House, Qutab Minar & Humayun’s tomb.
Overnight: Good Standard Hotel
Day 3: New Delhi-Bandhavgarh National Park
Morning flight to Jabalpur.
You will be transferred to Bandhavgarh NP (3½-hour drive).
Afternoon drive to the park in a 4WD for tiger-tracking and nature watch. This is one of the most diverse tiger parks in central India.
Target species: Tiger, Leopard, Sloth Bear etc.
Overnight: Wildlife Resort

Day 4 - 6: Bandhavgarh National Park
Morning and evening jungle visits in 4WD jeeps.
There may be chances to see the tiger from an elephant back.
Overnight: Wildlife Resort
Day 7: Bandhavgarh National Park
Morning tiger tracking in the park.
Drive to Jabalpur (3½-hour drive).
Connect overnight air-conditioned sleeper class train to Agra at 1540 hours.
Overnight: Sleeper Train
Day 8: Agra-National Chambal Sanctuary
Arrive in Agra early in the morning at 0430 hours.
Transfer to the hotel for wash and change.
Visit to the Taj Mahal (Friday closed).
Transfer to National Chambal Sanctuary at noon (1½ hours).
Afternoon boat cruise with a guide to see skimmers, terns, large flocks of migratory waterfowl, cranes, crocodiles and dolphin; turtles etc.
Target species: Indian Skimmer, Black-bellied Tern, Demoiselle & Sarus Cranes, Gangetic Dolphon, Fisheating & Marsh Mugger Crocodiles
Overnight: Chambal Safari Lodge

Day 09: National Chambal Sanctuary-Bharatpur
You will be transferred to Bharatpur in the morning (3 hours).
Arrive at Bharatpur at noon. You may visit Fatehpur Sikri en route (optional).
Afternoon birding in the wetlands of Bharatpur.
Overnight: Good Standard Hotel
Keoladeo National Park has some of the finest wetlands in the world and is the world heritage site. Over 400 species of birds find a refuge in the 29 square kilometers of shallow lakes & woodland of the park. A third of them are winter migrants which breed as far as Siberia & Central Asia.
Day 10 & 11: Bharatpur
Two full days of birding in Keoladeo Ghana National Park on foot and cycle rickshaws with a birding guide.
Note: boat ride will be arranged subject to availability.
Overnight: Good Standard Hotel

Day 12: Bharatpur-Bund Baretha-Delhi-Departure
Morning visit the wetlands of Bund Baretha for more species.
Drive back to Delhi in the afternoon (4-hour drive).
Time free for any last minute shopping.
You will transfer to the airport to connect flight to return destination.
